There are many wonderful resources for writers available! However, in writing The Mill River Recluse, Darcie found the following to be especially helpful:

First, Backspace, the Writer's Place, is an incredible resource for anyone interested in writing. The organization is based on the premise of writers helping writers and provides a wealth of information on all stages of writing, seeking representation for, publishing, and marketing a book. The Backspace discussion forums and the annual writers' conference sponsored by the organization are particularly helpful for new writers.

Second, the Preditors & Editors website and the website of the Association of Authors' Representatives are very useful once a writer gets to the stage of needing literary representation.

Finally, On Writing by Stephen King is brilliant, wickedly funny, and something that every writer, regardless of experience or skill level, should read!
